    Haven't had a problem with any of mine -- my original iPhone's side buttons failed after I dropped it on them.

Question: Could you explain how one utilizes inline assembly? An example of creating a variable in C then using it in asm registers, etc.

    This varies depending on compiler and architecture -- VC on x64 doesn't support inline assembly, sadly. I'll give the easiest example, which would be on VC/x86: 
    int x = 0x1000;
__asm {
  mov eax, x
  ror eax, 16
  mov x, eax
}
printf("%x\n",x);
    Very straightforward, if you know assembly (load x into eax, roll right eax 16 bits, store back to x).

    It seems like a pretty big departure. I'm still listening, after a couple times through. Reminds me more of The Eraser, maybe, but it seems on and off where I can hear them as a whole band. It happens at times, and it is great, but other times it doesn't feel like them. Anyway, I'd really like to hear these songs live.

    Edit: April 14 2011: I have to revise this answer -- having not listened to it for a while, it now seems to have reserved a space in my head which it so beautifully fills. Awesome. Wonderful.

    I think teaching with a blank slate, i.e. total freedom, could be fun, but it seems like many institutions would have specific course material that needs to get covered (the textbook-educational-complex), which might be a bummer.
