Methods can be named whatever, but we always make member variables prefixed with m_, unless it is a trivial class/struct with not more than a few tiny methods. Global variables tend to be g_*, or s_* if they are local to a particular file (i.e. static). Comment...

Hard to say, it essentially appears to be a lossy FFT, where it picks the frequencies that matter... So not sure if that'll be terribly applicable for things like convolution, though maybe. Comment...
