Ideally you should make it event driven and check on a timer, but if you insist on doing it in a loop, you can do '[[NSRunLoop currentRunLoop] runUntilDate:[NSDate dateWithTimeIntervalSinceNow:ms*0.001]]' in your loop. We are guilty of doing this in the splash screen, I think, ugh (for fades). Comment...
