Reply on January 1 2018, 12:37am:
JavaScript engines are a lot more difficult to integrate than Lua.

Question: 1) What do you like more? i) City or Countryside? ii) Summer or Winter? iii) Piano or Guitar? iv) Computer or Laptop? 2) Are you introvert, ambivert or extrovert?
Asked by Abhijeet Singh (59.89.123.x) on December 20 2017, 10:00am
Reply on December 20 2017, 3:22pm:
City most of the time, wilderness some of the time. Summer for sure. Guitar as of late. I like the quiet and low power consumption of laptops, but like fullsize keyboards, mice, screens. Right now I'm using a RMBP connected to a MS natural keyboard and mouse, and a thunderbolt display, and it's quite nice. I'm an introvert sometimes and an extrovert others, but in both cases I'd say they're pretty mild.

Question: JSFX is "compiled on the fly", but when I write even just a few second-order filters it takes up way more CPU than a native plugin like ReaEQ. How much of that is the language, and how much is me needing to write more efficient code?
Asked by signalsmith (72.21.198.x) on December 19 2017, 1:05am
Reply on December 19 2017, 2:57am:
I'd have to see the code, but if you code them carefully it should take about 2x the CPU as reaeq, plus a bit of extra calling overhead, I'd imagine.

Reply on December 15 2017, 2:17pm (edited at December 15 2017, 2:19pm):
As far as I know ARA2 has been in development a long time. I'm out of the loop on ARA so I am not qualified to answer, but I imagine ARA2 would be extending ARA1...
