Erg, not sure if they'd still be good or relevant. I spent a lot of time with the K&R C reference (the edition updated for ANSI C), some Michael Abrash book (completely out of date at this point.. ahh, mode X)...

We tend to do our own lightweight stuff (since not all dev environments (used to) have STL etc). That's part of WDL.
