Question:
I ment serial and parallel port programming ?
Asked by Gayan (124.43.147.x) on January 12 2010, 7:03pm
Reply on January 12 2010, 9:59pm:
Ahh. On linux it's very easy (opening the devices as files, though probably you'd want to use them in asynchronous modes).. And on Windows you can use CreateFile() and ReadFile()/WriteFile() (also in asynchronous, aka overlapped, modes).

Question:
Is eel optimize generated native code?
Asked by ruchira (202.129.233.x) on January 12 2010, 7:27am
Reply on January 12 2010, 5:17pm:
It generates native code, and while it's a lot faster than interpreted code, it is far from optimal. I'd say worst case it runs around 25% speed, best case closer to 70% speed, depending on how it is programmed and what kind of work it is doing.

Is there any chance to work for Cockos?
Asked by Alex (195.189.143.x) on January 10 2010, 8:11am
Reply on January 10 2010, 9:25pm:
We aren't currently hiring, but if you have/make a resumé of work (stuff you've done), and some of it is open source (so we can peek inside), then that's what we'd look at. If the right person comes along, then we'll grow. ;)
