Question: having an option to create a take in a new take lane with no splits and the ability to edit them separately would be nice. not sure if i'm explaining this well ¯_(ツ)_/¯

    (see above re: REAPER requests -- Post this in the FR forum, and make some text and screenshots describing your desired behavior... e.g. 30 second item, then record from 10s to 15s, then it would look like X and behave like Y).

Question: Is there any chance of an update or change in the takes function? specifically how it makes a split in the previously recorded media? i think this is basically the only downside to reaper.

    Not sure what the improved behavior would be, have the rest of the item be silent? So then you'd punch in part of an item and it would end up making the part you didn't punch in silent?

Question: do I have to do something special to run a message loop for swell linux? seems like that i am messing this up... my main window shows up and then is immediately terminated...

    I'd do something like this:
      while (!has_requested_quit)
      {
        SWELL_RunMessageLoop();
        Sleep(10);
      }

    I haven't. Growing up at various points I was (somewhat involuntarily) vegetarian at times, and while ethically I'm down with vegetarianism, functionally I find it difficult.

Question: How I trigger SWELLAppMain in Linux? note: for experimental use I use static libswell. osx everything great... ;)
Asked by Gio (79.130.167.x) on July 16 2018, 9:58am

    Trigger? If you call SWELL_RunMessageLoop() it should call SWELLAppMain() in response to events that get processed. It should be called SWELLAppRespondToEvent() or something, but whatever.

    Without looking: yogurt, milk, cherries, blueberries, strawberries just got eaten, some parmesan cheese which is probably too old and we never eat (for guests), mustard, pickle slices, soy sauce, various other condiments, lemon le croix, rice, flour, oats, masa harina, carrots, cabbage, fennel, fresh herbs (probably parsley, chives, maybe some other things), zucchini, maybe some leeks (I forget), maybe some ginger. I imagine if I looked there would be a lot of things I forgot.
    I looked and am compelled to mention: eggs, okra, broccoli, beets, jam, butter too.

Question: I read a while back that MS insists that C++ source files should use .cpp extension for portable C++. Does that still hold true if that was the case? Greetings
Asked by Gio (79.130.167.x) on July 13 2018, 7:00am
Reply on July 13 2018, 4:13pm:
    No idea, I've been using .cpp forever. Just tried making a .cc file and that seemed to compile OK using VC2005.
