Question: I worked through reverse-engineering the Base-64-decoded renderstrings recently and found, that some of the values are stored as floats. My problem being, that I don't know, how to convert a 3 or 4byte integer into it's float representation. How do you do it in Reaper? Do you convert it using a special algorithm before makeing it Base64 or does C/C++ do it for you? In the former case, what would you reommend reading about that?

In C you can use a simple cast eg “*(float *)&integervalue”. One can also interpret the bits directly using the IEEE 754 spec...

Question: Is there any setting that will force swell functions on macOS (such as GetCursorPos and GetWindowrect) to use coordinates relatively to top left (similar to Win32) instead of bottom left?
Asked by Julian (171.25.193.x) on March 1 2019, 8:47am
Reply on March 2 2019, 2:42am:
No, generally it's safer to just convert the local window coordinates anyway (via ScreenToClient()).

To the extent that they have IDs, and continue to exist in their present form, yes.

Linux. Because it's easier, and I never get any updating surprises. I tried to install WSL on my Windows laptop recently, it failed and gave me an error code that was no help at all. Fuck it.

Question: What's your opinion of Wine (the compatibility layer) and Wine-based Vst bridges on Linux? Could them represent a real productive solution to the lack of plugins, at least is some cases? Or does it make sense to use Linux+Wine at all?

Question: Are you Satoshi Nakamoto? (Semi-serious question, though more likely he was Hal Finney.) Regardless, do you think about the fact that you DID help inspire Bitcoin? (by inventing peer-to-peer file sharing, which inspired BitTorrent, which inspired the name and part of the mechanism of Bitcoin).

Question: 2 questions. First, is Waste still viable? 2nd. Did "Michael Bolton" really say "Cockos" in Office Space? lol. One of my fave movies, and that's the only word in it that made me think "huh?" I knew he mean "jackwad corporate tools" but I thought he said "cock hos. Tho online scripts (made by fans) do say "cockos." Oh, I talked up Reaper in this article: producelikeapro.com/blog/getting-s...

I'd imagine WASTE should still work, and if you can successfully exchange keys should be pretty safe to use (90% due to obscurity haha). As for the exact line in Office Space, it could be a number of things I guess.
