Question: Portable installation is so good. Why you guys still give us the normal installation? Isn't it better we all to switch to portable installation? Any disadvantage portable installation has over normal installation? I recently tested portable installation and found it great. Now I am switching my main REAPER into portable one.

Most people prefer to have all of the system integration stuff, it seems. The only real things I can think of that require installation, though, are ReWire and ReaRoute.

On Mac, plugins who are components cannot be put into a portable installation yet, so they must be installed on every system, who use them. So even if you use only portable versions of Reaper, components-effects cannot be exchanged that easy. We have that problem with our Ultraschall-Soundboard-plugin, for example.

@Justin shall I open a bugreport about that?
