Question: How is the state of things with REAPER and Intel CPUs gen. 12/13 regarding the efficiency cores? Remembering your blog post you had to do some tweaking in the REAPER code for the M1 efficiency cores.

I haven't looked at it on Windows, a lot of it will depend on how the OS schedules things; a lot of the issues on the M1 was due to the way that Apple exposed the thread scheduling to applications. On Windows it might be a non-issue.

ah, good to know. REAPER actually has an option on Windows, in prefs/general/advanced, where you can list CPUs to restrict REAPER to. So you can enter 0,1,2,3,4,5,6,7,8 if you have a system 8 P-cores and avoid the E-cores.

Ah yes, I knew about this option but forgot (as I haven't used it yet). Question was intended for a possible future buy, confident now, thanks.

It is affecting Windows in my experience. The render performance goes down in about 50% (specially after minimize Reaper). The Workaround you indicated worked to improve perfomance. I am on Windows 11 Home (last build) in Intel i7 12000h (I am using Lenovo Legion 5i 2022)
