Question: Do you feel pressure of having to maintain good public image, to meet certain expectations and to conform to cetrain standards when interacting online under your government name? Do you use anonymous accounts where you let lose?

I assume that posting anonymous anywhere is not, in fact, anonymous. Having said that, I don't feel much pressure to behave a certain way, other than the normal filter of polite behavior.

Why not anonymous? The interlocutors don't know your real name and even by the IP it may only be uncovered after some digging

As long as digging is possible, you aren't anonymous.

A user who you converse with doesn't have access to the server data so for them you're certainly anonymous. Maybe your definition of anonymity differs from mine.

They just need to ask the police et voila... anonymity gone quickly. At least in Germany. You need to go through a lot of hoops to achieve complete anonymity... or need to hope that no one will track data usable for reverse engineering the person behind the written text. And: nowadays it's more and more possible to revert anonymity by the analysis of the written text in style, word usage, etc. The more you post "anonymous" the more data can be used to find out, which non-anonymous user has probably written

the "anonymous" text, just by analyzing its style and comparing it to other posts. If you truly want to be anonymous: don't post anything.

So you mean police is gonna deal with a situation of someone getting upset while having exchange on the Internet? Do you really believe that? If a user is consistently anonymous, how are you going to be able to uncover their true identity by analyzing the style of their posts? Can you de-anonymize me?
