    For programming tasks I will also add to the list: sleeping with the problem as it could be effective as well, then try to tackle the problem first thing in the morning before anyone has access to your ears. Find some time for self-introspection late at night or early in the morning (what suits you best), trust your intuition more, and your logic less.
