Question: is there a free antivirus software? All that have paid options i have suspicion they are trying to make you start paying

Nice thing about using Linux is you don't really have to think about it. macOS too for that matter.

I'd say ditto Windows, I wouldn't say there's really any point in installing a 3rd party anti-virus these days because Windows defender is great.
