Question: How do you track which features are rarely used?
Asked by Will (99.100.219.x) on August 14 2025, 5:25pm
Reply on August 14 2025, 6:28pm:
In the case of the previous answer it was conjecture, but judging by the amount of pushback from having removed it 14 years ago (nearly none) I think it has proved correct.

Question: where did you got the idea of universal tracks?, And why did you decide to implement it in Reaper?
Asked by dann (181.116.47.x) on August 13 2025, 5:15pm
Reply on August 13 2025, 6:52pm:
just made sense I guess. first there were tracks that had media, then folder tracks, then sends between tracks (no need to have a separate list of busses, etc).. then hey MIDI would be nice, let's make it support that there too... etc

Question: I feel this is way better than any reviews out there, the sheer volume of people quickly chimming-in in a positive way was nice to see, how does this make you feel? If we all had a mission here, would you say this was yours and you've done a hell of a job? I would tbh, and I congratulate you for everything you've done for the sound community. reddit.com/r/Reaper/comments/1mn7u...

Question: Do you still have any of the unreleased Plush3D demos or model assets from back in the day? I've been working on a fork of the original version and I was curious if you had any more test programs or models that weren't released (like the logo model on the Plush webpage, or the source code of the tank demo)

Reply on August 10 2025, 5:19pm (edited at August 10 2025, 5:22pm):
sadly I think everything I have is on my mirror of the page. the logo model was likely made using caligari truespace and some font which someone might recognize but I have no idea...

Question: With Reaper -- can never get a fade out that sounds appealing to my ears. Experienced similar with other DAWs. Always end up using the Studio Fade Out in Audacity to get the required effect. Is this something worth looking at for Reaper?

Question: Why do some DAWs have built in midi articulation features like cubase, logic etc. but other daws like reaper, fl, etc. don't? Like why it's not integrated as other daw standards like the piano roll or vst formats in every daw? Is this like a subjective limitation (like a priority thing) or it's more of an objective limitation of midi 1.0 not having enough data about each note to have a proper standardized implementation across all daws or both or something else?
