Question:
do you sit on any boards, do you have any aspirations to work on projects with other companies? (google, apple)
Asked by pedro (98.14.46.x) on August 9 2009, 1:56pm
Reply on August 9 2009, 5:24pm:
No, I'm not on any boards (other that Cockos).
I have virtually no desire to work for another big company, but doing work with them is fine (we are actually working with a few rather big companies at the moment).

how about an answered question to be re-fed into RSS. if you read a question before it is answered, it won't feed again.

The rss link embedded should default to only show replied, but I'll make it do that from now on even with the old (more simple) URL.

Question:
How do you keep from internalizing it when people criticize your code/software?
Asked by Chris (74.107.152.x) on August 3 2009, 5:13pm
Reply on August 4 2009, 4:35pm:
Well most criticism I receive is constructive, which is pretty easy to appreciate rather than fear. The stuff that isn't constructive is usually just nonsense given by people who have their own agendas, and can be safely ignored.

Do you still use that Jesusonic hardware unit?
Asked by shmoe (64.59.144.x) on August 2 2009, 7:55am

Not very much -- I usually use my Underhill JF1 tube amp.. Mmm it's soooo awesome and loud. It actually has an fx loop too so in theory I could combine them. But for now it's usually the jf1 with a line6 dl4 and dm4 in front.

Question:
DSP can be a tricky thing to learn. What resources did you use to get your bearings? ... or did you invent your own maths ?
Asked by Will (68.96.104.x) on August 1 2009, 7:05pm
Reply on August 4 2009, 4:31pm:
The RBJ docs are a good start. Also there's a good book titled (I think) 'an engineers guide to dsp' that is helpful. Wikipedia has a bunch of decent info too...

Asked by matt (72.14.228.x) on July 31 2009, 11:59am
Reply on July 31 2009, 2:33pm:
The first computer I ever got to use on any regular basis was my older brothers' Atari 800XL, I think.. mmm. shiny. I think the first one that was mine was an XE system, which was very similar in terms of internal hardware. That one I still have (at my parents house).

Question:
I remember the RC plane with the camera and the piano from Craigslist. Do you still dabble in either?
Asked by Bubba-kazoo (24.218.215.x) on July 30 2009, 2:34pm
Reply on July 31 2009, 8:04am:
The piano has its place in our music room.. not bad sounding, probably need to tune it again soon.
The RC plane with the camera gets used occasionally. The image quality is pretty useless. When I do fly RC stuff now it's mostly helicopters.
