Question:
I Just want to understand "hold" when it comes to compression, I'm coding one. Is there a reason there is no Hold control in ReaComp? Is it a hard-coded hidden parameter? If it is, what millisecond value is the ideal range for it? Or is the Hold of ReaComp always changing depending on input?

usually you want the gain amount to transition smoothly, which a hold parameter wouldn't really do... if you held, what would you do once the hold expires? would you be ignoring the signal below the hold time? anyway there's no ideal thing, lots of different ways to do things...
