Deep apologies for troubling you here. Long time Reaper user.. There are many threads on forum about not being able to import video on Reaper in Linux. This is recent. This has somethng to do with a path issue, where it is not pointing to FFMPEG. This is a staple feature needed for work. Whenever you can address this, please do. Thank you and once again, really, really sorry for troubling you here.

install the old ffmpeg version, and it'll work. If using a debian-based distro, you can use
this script
