Question: Is it possible to do real-time audio (like DAW) through pulseaudio? Or do you have to go throuh ALSA/JACK?

afaik pulseaudio is pretty high latency. pipewire is the modern thing and it can run pulseaudio emulation too afaik. REAPER can use pipewire-jack, which is a very minimal layer since their underlying APIs (pipewire, jack) are so similar.
