Question: Someone released an Adobe suite clone this week written in Rust. The twitter-sphere has been hot the last week with decompilation and the "end of closed source". Do you have any concern that Reaper will be cloned and rev'd on by a group that embraces AI for the speed of dev and new features? I know you don't believe in patents, so as the moat inevitably disappears and you remain against AI for dev, what do you think is the likely long term outcome for your product?

the question's subtle suggestion of Reaper's doom forgets that the users who want a free version will just use Reaper's evaluation mode forever, why would users use some vibe-stolen recomp with "pump&dump" "developers" instead? all of this decomp stuff (with games as well) has really got me cheering on the inevitable lawsuits, go to town Adobe, Capcom, Tencent, Nintendo, Sony, these AI boosters could really use a kick in the teeth..

I guess time will tell which "probably" plays out.
