Question: I beleive the reasons to try mercurial are NamedBrunches, global tags and more clear and logical code written with python. Do you like python?
Asked by asafonov (80.239.242.x) on November 11 2010, 12:06pm
Reply on November 12 2010, 9:11am:
Brunch? I like brunch, with mimosas, mmm. I'm not a big fan of Python, and I find the git code actually quite nice to work with (both the shell/perl scripts and the C stuff), so I'm pretty happy.

Hmm can't think of any super famous/commercial artists that I've heard from (though I'd imagine they are out there somewhere). Some big TV and radio people do use it though.

Question: Surprised vis never incorporated album artwork. Any ideas how to do that in AVS and make it look slick?
Asked by Will (70.173.150.x) on November 7 2010, 10:55am
Reply on November 8 2010, 12:52pm:
There would be some simple integration work to do that, then you could either provide it to a special render step, or maybe blend it into the image or something, I dunno.

Question: Which database should I peak for a heavy duty job --- MySQL or PostgreSQL?
Asked by _gio (62.103.65.x) on November 6 2010, 6:41pm

Probably depends on a lot of factors.. I do know that how you interface the database is probably as important as the actual database you use. Optimizing, mmm.

I buy CDs when I can, but some things are hard to find (like that Tame Impala EP). I do like the Vinyl+MP3 purchase option, too.

Question: Are you annoyed with auto-updates in software?
Asked by _gio (62.103.65.x) on November 4 2010, 8:11pm
Reply on November 4 2010, 9:55pm:
(I think I read a rant on this on virtualdub) -- I dont like things updating without asking, or forcing an update before things can work, for sure. Getting let know that updates are available = good; getting railroaded into installing them = bad.

Question: Why have you forsaken me?
Asked by Beer (98.108.138.x) on November 4 2010, 10:59am
Reply on November 4 2010, 9:54pm:
I love you beer! REALLY! but you make my stomach hurt most of the time, and my head hurt some of the time, so it's not worth it anymore. Vodka and Gin are more reliable.

Question: What is your favorite beer? Do you prefer light or dark beer?
Asked by asafonov (83.149.3.x) on November 3 2010, 11:05pm

I've had to stop drinking them, unfortunately, but my favorites include MGD, Newcastle, and Guinness (depending on mood/weather). I don't really like pale ales or Belgian beers.
