Question:
Does reaper infringe any patents you know of? What would you do if sued for infringement?
Asked by Will (24.234.128.x) on May 6 2011, 12:37pm
Reply on May 8 2011, 4:11am:
I hope that it doesn't. If it ever did come up, ugh, I'd probably take a stand and spend a ton of money trying to invalidate software patents, which are generally crap (software is math, math isn't patentable, etc).

Question:
In Reaper, is it possible to batch rename markers with a character # then song title? Is there api for this? Thanks
Asked by Wyatt (76.233.148.x) on May 6 2011, 1:03am
Reply on May 8 2011, 4:11am:
You could do this using the api or a reascript, or you could do a search/replace on the .rpp file too.

Skywriting is always nice.. but either post it here as a question, or email. Beware, though, I think that ideas are mostly worthless without proper execution.

Question:
How does milkdrop 1 differ from AVS? Is it more advanced?
Asked by Will (24.234.128.x) on May 4 2011, 11:15am
Reply on May 5 2011, 11:02am:
Milkdrop 1 is pretty much a hardware accelerated subset of AVS (though to be fair to Geiss, some of what was in Milkdrop was added to AVS later, etc). Generally AVS is way more capable, but also not hardware accelerated.

Question How did you end up here bit.ly/jsM4V1 and how did you hold back from laughing? Is there money to be made in shit
Asked by AnalSeducer (71.204.134.x) on May 3 2011, 7:39am
Reply on May 3 2011, 1:16pm:
We saw that Kim Gordon was playing a show, so we went and waited in line to get tickets for it, for $10 each. Then we came back later for the show, which was in a very small space, and then Yoko Ono showed up, and things got weird. The drummer was fun to watch. It was very memorable.

Question:
Do you feel you learn more by looking at example code, or reading books on the subject?
Asked by James (70.173.150.x) on April 27 2011, 10:12pm
Reply on April 29 2011, 7:02am:
That depends on the code -- there are plenty of examples of terrible example code (code that provides more ambiguity than clarity), and also terrible documentation. So really it's the quality and thought that went into the thing, not what form it takes.
