I think bloat can be a bad thing, but being anti-bloat to the point of losing functionality/usability/sentimental attachment is a waste. Which is what fb2k is to me (i.e. I'd just as soon use a command line player, it would make as much sense to me). Comment... Question: Do you use tab when you write code? I notice from some source code written by you that it appear to be space instead of tab. So the things you'd like the most aren't currently being produced, but rather simply exist. I'll assume you mean CoreAudio vs OSS vs ALSA vs JACK vs MME vs DirectSound vs WDMKS vs WASAPI vs ASIO. I haven't worked with JACK. It may be a pleasure, but I can't say. I'll go with ASIO. It's pretty straightforward to implement on both the driver and application side, and performs well. The downside is of course that these days it's only really available on Windows, and the license for the SDK is generally incompatible with GPL software. Comment...
