Question: Hi. Some of us just found out that on MacOS gfx.init isn't required for gfx.showmenu to work. Could you clarify why that is and if possible maybe consider allowing this on Windows and other OS as well for aesthetic reasons because in this case gfx.init displays a gfx window which serves no practical purpose? This difference between OS was discovered in the thread t=280658

Question: Could you envision a non-centralized network for twitter like dialog? Similar to gnutella without the Musk? Could that be feasible/performant?

The thing about twitter was the discovery and ease in finding/connecting with people was awesome. Mastodon still seems to lack there. Maybe there's a way to improve that, I dunno

Question: how to use WDL/circbuf.h for multi-channel non-interleaved audio?
Asked by ruchira (123.231.108.x) on July 21 2023, 2:31am
Reply on July 21 2023, 1:29pm:
You'd probably want to use one per channel if you want non-interleaved. For interleaved, you might want to use WDL_DelayLine which handles a lot of cases (e.g. if changing channel counts, reinterleaves, etc).

the media is on a NAS and nfs mounted read-only on the linux VM that serves the files via apache. Then there are a number of different ways to access that media via the web, and some javascript that does the playering on my various pages (and WHUMP which is the main music.1014.org interface)...

Question: How does Reaper encode the TXXX in ID3? It looks like there's 7 bytes between TXXX and the actual content, what do they contain?
Asked by Mespotine (46.114.202.x) on July 16 2023, 7:44pm
Reply on July 16 2023, 9:00pm:
The ID3v2 frame header is 10 bytes total -- 4 bytes (TXXX), 4 bytes size, 2 bytes flags. Then, since it's a text field, there's a byte for text encoding, then the data.

I've only lived in the most expensive, but NYC has a lot to love! Unless you don't like the hot in the summer and the cold in the winter... I lived in the Phoenix area for a bit and I don't like car culture anymore.
