Question: Hi there. Do you know Everything? Its search speed is extremely fast. Have you ever considered integrating Everything with the search function of the media resource browser? Would that make the search extremely fast?

Question: I don't recall ever hearing a president speak like this in public. It seems it's generally frowned upon when you hold a diplomatic position. Is it offensive? What do you think about this? (removed)

Question: You've probably been asked this before but how do you handle the media for this site? do you use in-house boxes for music storage etc and just relay traffic from public to your stuff via aws or something, or just fully use a cloud provider?
Asked by yoyo-ma (146.70.126.x) on July 4 2025, 3:04pm
Reply on July 4 2025, 3:48pm:
all my gigs and gigs of mp3s exist on a NAS, which is mounted by NFS to a linux VM which runs the music.1014.org web server, which sits behind my cheapo FIOS at home. the main blog pages exist on a cloud instance, separate from that, since they have a relatively small amount of media. I could put them on that same home VM though, but it's on a dynamic IP and if I did that I couldn't point the domain name itself (without the www. etc) to it easily (music.1014.org is a CNAME to a short-TTL dns name that points to the dynamic IP).

Question: What made you add the built-in oversampling to REAPER? It's very rare on the DAW market? Also, is it something you found yourself needing for your plugins?

Reply on July 2 2025, 8:52pm:
I never use it in practice, but people wanted it and it seemed like a useful thing to support generically.

Question: Hello, I recently learned that JSFX is derived from the name “Jesusonic.” While I understand and appreciate that the original intention was to honor Jesus' teachings—such as kindness and care for others—I wanted to share a concern as a practicing Christian. The use of Jesus’ name in a technical or commercial context can be uncomfortable or even troubling for some believers, as it may feel irreverent, regardless of intent. With that in mind, I was wondering if you have ever considered changing the name—eit

The name is JSFX, so now you don't have to worry! lol. JSFX is free and open source at this point, so it's not really commercial, and if someone is troubled enough by a name that references a person, well, sorry.

Question: Apologies for discussing Reaper, but this is a parculiar thing. Webview bug - think it might have gone amiss as it's not in the bug forum: forum.cockos.com/showthread.php?p=... seems to commandeer the reaper resource path linked in the options menu of Reaper. Would be awesome if this didn't happen. I found a github discussion about it here: github.com/MicrosoftEdge/WebView2F...

Question: Alright. This is what I meant. Sometimes I want to use colon in my slider description, for e.g, "slider3:0Conversion". But the colon after "Manual" is marked red though it compiles alright. That red highlight is bothering me, why red? I assumed red highlight meant unsupported character, is it future-proof to ignore and maintain the colon there?

Reply on June 26 2025, 12:01am:
yeah, that's probably a bug in the syntax highlighter
